DIY Power Deck Challenge- Wisdom & Beauty- 2

                                                   DIY Personal Power Deck Challenge
                                                                             Day 2
WISDOM and BEAUTY

Wisdom depicts a turquoise nestled in a sprig of sage. Turquoise deepens awareness, bringing understanding and wisdom. Tomes have been written about sage's powerful ability to access higher understanding and wisdom.

Beauty shows rose quartz alongside a branch of witch hazel. Rose quartz is probably the most popular stone used in beauty routines, due to its properties. Its feminine energy awakens the heart, opens us up to love, and inspires a love of beauty of all kinds. Physically, it's said to prevent wrinkles & clear the complexion.  Witch hazel is a brilliant plant to add to your beauty routine. It is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to skincare. I honestly could not think of a plant that is more invaluable to my personal beauty routine, and thus found it to be the most appropriate plant to feature on my beauty card.

I've decided to call my deck "Sticks and Stones." Have you named your diy deck?

To celebrate the beginning of this journey, I have started an Instagram for this blog. I would love for you to join me and tag me in pictures of your creations!

Messages from the Universe

Hello, beautiful friends! I hope everyone is having a blessed day.
Sorry about neglecting Monday's post. I received some nerve-racking personal news. But as I sat on my porch, anxious & in tears, this little guy stopped by with a message for me.

πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹The butterfly represents change, hope, endurance, & life. πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹

What a beautiful reminder from the universe to keep my chin up, hang in there, and embrace this time of transition!.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming 😊

Power Deck Challenge- Begin and Create- 1

DIY Personal Power Deck Challenge
Day 1
BEGIN and CREATE

What appropriate cards to kickoff the challenge, don't you think?

Begin features a moonstone sitting upon birch bark.  Moonstone is a stone of new beginnings. As the name implies, it is connected with the moon & therefore cycles and intuition, which is why I have chosen it. Birch represents new beginnings and opportunities, and is believed to build courage, intent,  & determination, all essential for embarking on a new path.

Create features a blue lace agate lovingly placed on a sprig of bacopa. Blue Lace Agate works to help clarify your thoughts. It is a wonderful stone for releasing the fear of others' opinions & judgements, allowing you to freely express yourself. This helps release your inner artist, and your creativity. Bacopa provides mental clarity, promotes intellect, inspires creativity, & improves creative thought.

The photo quality isn't great, and neither is the artwork, but that's completely ok. This is a wonderful exercise in intuition and creativity, it is not about perfection. Resist the urge to recreate, redo, and edit, or you'll never finish it. Be kind to yourself, and be kind to your creation! These are for your personal use and growth, the intention and effort you've put into them is what matters.

To celebrate the beginning of this journey, I have just started an Instagram for this blog. I would love, love, love for you to join me and tag me in pictures of your deck creations so I can see all the beauty you're bringing into this world!

Energy of the Day ~ June 01, 2019

-Energy of the day-

The Hermit

Hello, beautiful friend!
As we enter a new month and move into summer, a season of gathering and socialization,
the Hermit reminds us to carve out some alone time to reflect and listen to our inner voice. Withdraw from the outside world and draw your attention inward to find the answers you seek.
Plan a day of solitude for self-examination, where you can meditate, contemplate, and re-evaluate.

-Energy of the day-
8 of Swords

.
Are you trapped in a cycle of negative self-talk? Do you hold on to limiting beliefs? Our thoughts can restrict our actions, but those self-imposed boundaries exist only in your head. You do have the ability to break free from your bondage. Don't surrender your power.

Release yourself from the prison of self-doubt and fear.

Today, practice thought mindfulness. Observe your thoughts. Identify which thoughts are restricting you.  Negative self-talk, excuses, pointing fingers, complaining, destructive habits, perfectionism- these are all examples of limiting thoughts. When they arise, examine them. Ask yourself what you're gaining by giving into that mindset. What are you resisting? Instead of just accepting the restrictions these thoughts place on you, challenge them. What assumptions are you making? Is the belief even true? What options have you not explored? Reflect on what your inner monologue reveals. Identify a new, more liberating belief- for example "Instead of succumbing to fear I can chose to be excited about the possibilities."

Observe. Identify. Examine. Challenge. Change. Break free from your self-imposed prison.

Make your own PERSONAL POWER deck- 30 Day challenge

Truth be told, I've never been one for Oracle cards, but I am at a point in life where I want to try implementing them into my daily meditation practice. Though there are a ton of beautiful decks out there, none of them really call to me. Instead, I'll make my own! I'm basing my cards off a Tarot deck I'm designing for my own use. That's a very complex project and it will be a long time before those are ready, but it'll be nice to have something along that vein to use for now.

So what IS the challenge? Well, it's really whatever you want it to be. Look at existing Oracle decks. Which ones do you love? Why do they appeal to you? Brainstorm what your perfect deck is like.  How many cards does it have? What shape is the deck? What colors or images do you imagine? What style is the artwork? Listen to your intuition. I'm choosing 60 words that resonate with me, and assigning each word both a plant and a crystal with properties that enhance the attributes of that word. I'll be illustrating 2 cards a day, for 30 days. I am not very artistically skilled, so I will be drawing my concepts on regular paper and my sweet husband will be creating digital images from that. I'll then print them on heavy cardstock, charge them with the appropriate herbs/crystals, and laminate them.

The benefits of making your own Oracle, or personal power, cards are numerous. You get a deck that really speaks to you, you can choose illustrations, colors, and symbolism that  sparks something inside of you. The cards are the perfect size and shape for your hand. You get to exercise both your intuition and creativity. I'll actually be sitting down and drawing with my daughter every day, so that's a huge perk for me.

Materials:
-Cardstock or blank index cards
-Waterpaint, crayons, markers, pencils...whatever medium you choose to work with. Even images cut from magazines works! Or make them digitally!
-Intention
-Commitment

I'll be beginning my challenge on the first of June, since it's just a few days away and has 30 days, and posting my concept cards as they're finished.

How to get the MOST out of your email reading

Tips for receiving a POWERFUL email reading

You can co-create your experience, and ensure you leave your reading feeling enlightened and empowered. These tips can help you gain the most insight from your email readings.

Find the Right Reader Readers come in kinds. We have different abilities, methods, philosophies, talents, & utilize different tools. Some are psychic, some are mediums, some specialize in romance or career readings. Shop around. Find out what a reader offers, and decide if that aligns with your needs. Read over their site, check out their "about me," terms, and code of ethics. There you'll find out about their experience, payment and refund policies, the legalities, what kinds of questions they will not answer, and other extremely valuable information.

Ask the Right Question This could be a blog post all it's own (and will be, soon) but we'll go over the basics. Keep in mind that Tarot is about growth,  and real growth requires confronting difficult things, so don't be afraid or embarrassed to ask what you really want to ask.

Be specific with your question- the clearer your question, the clearer your response.

You also want to frame your question in a way that's all about you and honors your personal power. These types of questions invite practical, actionable, empowering answers. There's a lot of advice about how to formulate your questions to achieve that, but your reader can usually help you reword your request to get the most out of it.

If you don't have a specific question that's fine, but it's best to have a topic of interest in mind. What area of your life would you like to know more about? Perhaps you'd like to connect to your spirit. Maybe you just want to how the year ahead will unfold.

And the most important thing... Relax. Be open to receiving the message the Universe has for you. Embrace the exploration. And enjoy the experience!

You've found the Tarot pro you want to work with, asked your question, and you're patiently waiting for their response. Now what? Follow these tips for getting the most out of your reading.

Set the Mood A Tarot reading is special, it's significant, and deserves a mindful approach. Just as I create a quiet, sacred space in which to connect & focus when I consult the cards for you, I HIGHLY recommend you do the same when you receive your reading. Set aside some quiet time to soak up your reading. If the enviroment is noisy & distracting, or you're pressed for time, it'll be much more difficult to appreciate the full message in your reading. Taking a few minutes to yourself to set the mood and connect will help you reap the most benefits from your reading.Take a moment to clear your head and center yourself before diving in. If you desire, you can light a candle or incense, cozy up under your favorite blanket, brew yourself a soothing cup o f tea or comforting cocoa. Whatever it is that puts you in the mood and enhances your personal experience.
Linger You're probably anxious and excited for your answer. It's hard to resist opening that email and gobbling up all the information inside. WAAAIIIT! If you rush, you're doing yourself a true disservice! Take it slowly. Give yourself the opportunity to take in the full meaning and let it all sink in. Look at the images of your cards.
Reflect This is extremely important. Tarot doesn't tell you what to do, it doesn't give you an absolute outcome. Instead, it provides insight & helps guide you. Now that you've had some time to soak it all in, let's mull it over.
What jumped out at you? How can you apply the messages and guidance to your life?  What emotions did the reading evoke? What details did you notice in the card images?
You can grab a notebook to write down your observations and emotions, or print your PDF and add your notes to the margin. Another idea is to meditate on your reading.
Revisit One of the benefits of an email reading is that you can reference it whenever you feel the need to.
